TAREKS became competitive with its R& D investments
TAREKS Tohumculuk, a subsidiary of the Türkiye Tarım Kredi Kooperatifleri, signed an agreement with a company operating in Uzbekistan for the export of approximately $600,000 worth of grain and silage corn seed varieties. Thus, TAREKS Tohumculuk doubled its exports to Uzbekistan in 2021 and set its export target for 2022 as $1,000,000.
Priority given to projects that will reduce external dependency
TAREKS Tohumculuk continues to contribute to the country's agriculture with its modern production infrastructure, R&D studies , investments in hybrid corn, cereals (wheat, barley, triticale, etc.), potatoes, chickpeas, some forage crops, and 40,000 tons of production and seed processing capacity.
TAREKS Tohumculuk also gives priority to projects that will reduce external dependency and increase productivity, especially through R&D activities .

R &D studies it has focused on in recent years , has reached a level that will compete with international companies in the sector by developing competitive varieties with the domestic hybrid corn development projects it has carried out and has become a hybrid corn seed exporter.
Corn seeds are native and hybrid
TAREKS, which carries out its corn seed activities with its corn seed breeding station and seed drying-processing facility located in Altınova/Balıkesir, produces local and national hybrid corn varieties that it has bred and developed in its R&D Center , which it established in 2009 .
The production and marketing of grain and silage corn seeds offered to farmers is carried out with more than 10 varieties that it has improved.
Corn seed export to 7 countries
TAREKS Tohumculuk adds new varieties to its seed portfolio every year and offers these varieties for sale in the market. The company has been continuing its efforts to increase exports, especially since 2019, and in this context, hybrid corn seeds are currently exported to 7 different countries.
In Uzbekistan, where the company exported corn seeds in 2021, grain and silage varieties won the appreciation of farmers and attracted attention with their high yield results. Within the framework of 2022 export plans, as a result of the meetings held under the coordination of TAREKS Tohumculuk Chairman Dr. Ahmet Bağcı and General Manager Burhanettin Topsakal, an agreement was signed with a company operating in Uzbekistan for the export of grain and silage varieties worth approximately 600,000 dollars.
Doubled export target
With the signed agreement, TAREKS Tohumculuk doubled its exports to Uzbekistan for 2021 and set its export target for 2022 as 1,000,000 dollars.
TAREKS, one of the subsidiaries of Tarım Kredi Kooperatifleri, reduces the external dependency in agriculture by meeting the seed needs of our farmers with the seed varieties it develops, produces and markets, and also contributes to the national economy by selling hybrid corn seeds abroad, especially with its recent work.
