Kooperatif of the Year Award in the field of innovation in Agricultural Credit

The opening of the 4th Türkiye Kooperatifler Fuarı (Türkey Cooperatives Fair) was held with the theme of "Producing Together, Growing Together".

At the Turkish Cooperatives Fair, which was held for the fourth time this year by the Ministry of Commerce, Turkish Agricultural Credit Cooperatives won the Cooperatives of the Year Award in the "Innovation" category with the smart agricultural practices they developed.

Welcoming its visitors with strict measures against the new type of coronavirus epidemic, Tarım Kredi and its subsidiaries also took part in the booth they opened.
The opening of the 4th Turkey Cooperatives Fair was held with the theme of "Co-production, Growth Together" with the participation of Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan, Family Labor and Social Services Minister Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk, and representatives and members of more than 160 cooperatives.
In his speech at the opening of the fair held with the theme of "Co-production, Growth Together", Minister Pekcan stated that there are 50 thousand cooperatives operating in nearly 40 sectors in Turkey, from education to health, from housing to insurance, from transportation to agricultural development, from energy to women's entrepreneurship. stated that there are 8 thousand 750 cooperatives operating with approximately 1.4 million members in total.
Stating that according to a report published in partnership with the International Cooperatives Union (ICA), the total turnover of the world's 300 largest cooperatives in terms of turnover is around 2 trillion dollars, Pekcan said, "Our goal is to include cooperatives from Turkey here, too. to get it.”

Pointing out that cooperatives provide a critical advantage, such as creating economies of scale by bringing together many small producers and entrepreneurs, Minister Pekcan said that an investment that an economic actor cannot realize alone, a production cost that he cannot overcome alone can be done effectively and profitably thanks to cooperatives.
 
The fair plays a vital role in women's entrepreneurship

In her speech, Minister of Family, Labor and Social Services Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk stated that 16 percent of the founders of technology startups in Turkey have been women in the last 10 years, which puts Turkey in the fourth place in Europe.
Minister Selçuk stated at the Opening Ceremony of the Turkey Cooperatives Fair that cooperatives are an effective model in sustainable social and economic development and employment policies. Expressing that they care about the Turkey Cooperatives Fair, Selçuk said that the fair also plays a vital role in women's entrepreneurship. Pointing out that women's cooperatives provide the opportunity to increase personal development and skills, and to seize entrepreneurship opportunities, Selçuk emphasized that the development level of societies where women's entrepreneurship is active is high. Selçuk stated that as the Ministry, they provided all the necessary support for increasing the number of entrepreneurs and for the development and proliferation of cooperatives.
 
Innovation Award for Agricultural Credit

After the speeches, plaques were presented to the cooperatives that contributed to the development of cooperatives in Turkey and carried out successful works.
Turkish Agricultural Credit Cooperatives is the name of the award in the Innovative Cooperative category with smart agriculture projects such as Digital Transformation, Joint Card, Korbis (Cooperative Joint Information System), ZIHA (Agricultural Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) and Tarkip (Satellite Field Tracking System). The award was given to General Manager Dr. Fahrettin Poyraz received it from the Minister of Trade Ruhsar Pekcan.

After the opening, Pekcan also visited the stands at the fair and got information about the products and cooperatives. Poyraz, who chatted with the citizens who came to visit the stand, received information about the joint card, Korbis and digital transformation works from Özkan Çelikten, Agriculture Credit Software and Data Management Manager. Poyraz used the Satellite Field Tracking System (Tarkip) program live, which is appreciated by reducing risks in agricultural production and increasing productivity, and which has attracted great interest in the sector in terms of Smart Agriculture.
